About
About BarGraphMaker
We build free chart tools that are quick to use, honest by default, and private. Your data never leaves your device.
What this site is
BarGraphMaker is a set of free chart makers: a bar graph maker and related tools for histograms, Pareto charts, pie charts and line graphs, plus guides on making and reading charts. It is an independent project, not part of a larger publisher or software vendor.
Why we made it
Most people who search for a bar graph maker want one thing: to type in some numbers and get a clear picture. Many tools in this space ask you to make an account first, or put a watermark on the result. We wanted the opposite: open the page, make the chart, and leave with a clean file. We also wanted the defaults to be honest, with a zero baseline, readable colors and text descriptions for accessibility.
What we promise
- No account and no watermark. You do not need to sign up, and downloads carry no branding.
- Private by design. Charts are drawn in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to our servers. Read the privacy notes.
- Honest charts. Bars start at zero, and the editor warns you if you change that. Alt text is generated from your data.
- Checked formulas. Number parsing, binning rules and chart scaling are covered by automated tests. See our methodology.
- Clear sample data. Every example dataset on the site is labeled as sample data.
How the site is funded
At the time of writing the site has no advertising and no paid features, and the tools are free to use. If that changes, we will say so here and in the changelog. The tools do not watermark downloads or require a sign-up to export.
Who writes the guides
Guides are written by the BarGraphMaker team and checked against the behavior of the tools and against the sources they cite. Where a claim comes from a published source, we link to it. Where something is a rule of thumb rather than a standard, we say so. See how we build and check for the process, including how we use AI assistance and how we handle corrections.
